It is April, so I thought it would be fitting to do the 'April showers book tag' for this week's Tag Time. This tag is pretty much just full of questions revolving around rain, hence the name.
I found this on Zezee with Books, but was originally created by Beyond the Book Reviews and Mad for Books, Luv, so all credit goes to them.
Here we go!
SHARE A BOOK WITH WATER ON THE COVER
After some digging, I finally found a book that I have read with water on the cover - Aquicorn Cove. This is the kind of book that I think should be read in school as it comes with an important message regarding ocean preservation.
WHAT'S A CLASSIC NOVEL YOU'D LIKE TO CURL UP ON THE COUCH WITH?
I am not a classics person, at all really, as I find them mostly dull and boring. I am more likely to pick up fantasy or sci-fi classics than anything else at least. I am currently reading a classic, surprisingly, and that is Sleepy Hollow. I've seen the movie dozens of times, so I thought it might be interesting to pick up the book.
SHARE A SCARY BOOK YOU WOULD READ DURING A RAINSTORM
I actually love rainstorms and think it's the perfect time to cuddle up, listen to the rain, and read. So, scary stories aren't what I really gravitate towards when it rains, preferring to read them in the dead of night. If I did though, I think I would go with Distant Sky. It is a very atmospheric horror webtoon that gave me chills at moments, which is very rare for me.
WHAT'S A GOOD BOOK REC FOR RAINY DAYS?
Any wholesome or slice-of-life webtoon that warms you up from the inside. Since I already have mentioned I book by Kay O'Neill on here, I am also going to recommend her more well-known series as well - Tea Dragon. If you are looking for something on the romance side, I would suggest Horimiya.
WHAT TWO CHARACTERS WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPEND A RAINY DAY WITH?
Having just finished watching Haikyuu!!, and getting ready to eventually finish the manga, I am going to go with Kenma, along with Yaoyorozu from My Hero Academia. Kenma you could just chill and play video games with, while I think Yaoyorozu would make sure you are well fed.
SHARE A BOOK THAT HAS BLUE ON THE COVER
I was going to go with something a bit bluer, but I honestly think this book isn't talked about enough. I found this on NetGalley and thought it sounded interesting, and I ended up getting so much more than I expected out of it. If you are looking for something ore like a chronicle, I would highly recommend this.
WHAT BOOK HAS A RAINY SETTING AT SOME POINT?
This is a bit of a difficult question since it is such a small detail to remember from a book. The only thing that comes immediately to mind is Tokyo Revengers since there is a fight scene in the rain (and the rain was drawn pretty well too).
WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU NOT MIND USING AS AN UMBRELLA?
I've got a good amount of books that deserve to be sacrificed, the problem is though that I have talked about most of them. One I haven't talked about, because it only comes out today, is Spear. This wasn't necessarily a bad book but it was most definitely not a me book.
WHICH CHARACTER WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE AN UMBRELLA WITH?
Still riding the Haikyuu!! train here, I am going to go with Hinata ball of energy and human tangerine. Honestly, any cinnamon anime/manga character would work for this like Tanjiro from Demon Slayer or Amajiki from My Hero Academia. I would honestly just give my umbrella to them and deal with the rain if it comes down to it.
SHARE A NOVEL WITH A DRY BEGINNING BUT AMAZING END
This was not Sarah J. Maas at her best as I found a lot of flaws in this book. It was an overall okay book, but that ending though. I finished reading this sometime after midnight, and I had to stop myself from gasping loudly.
